Sponsorship

In 2007, The Future Factory ran programs for over 100,000 children in the Western Cape , and thousands of adults. Every week we have requests from people in urgent need of sponsorship – these can be anywhere from food to feed a family to school supplies so a child can go to school, to sports shoes so a child can play on a sports team. As we operate with no outside funding, we rely solely on donations to survive. These donations are hugely appreciated by both the children and The Future Factory. We thank everyone for their support in 2007, and look forward to another great year in 2008. Below is a list of various sponsorship options for 2008.

If you experience any problems, or wish to make a donation through international wire via the bank or cheque, please email tanya@thefuturefactory.co.za

We and the children we work with thank you for your support!

GENERAL DONATIONS

Donations of any amount, either once off, annually or monthly, will be used wherever they are most needed at the time – this could be to purchase equipment, for our feeding programs, to provide school supplies so a child can go to school, or anywhere else it is needed. The Future Factory will provide information on where the money has been spent.

FUTURE FACTORY EQUIPMENT

The Future Factory is always in need of equipment to use on our programs. For most events we do, we have to take our own equipment with us. This could mean balls, cricket bats, volleyball nets, bibs and a number of other things. One of our biggest requests is face painting, and we can sometimes paint over 1000 faces in a day. Something so small can make a huge difference to kids who get very little attention, and they will often line up for hours for the chance to have their face painted. Unfortunately, supplies like face paint go very quickly when we do so many children, and we are constantly needing to buy more.

OTTERY FEEDING PROGRAM

The Future Factory feeds over 5000 people in the Ottery Community each week, through before and after school feedings and senior citizens feedings. This program operates only from donations received.

SOCCER BALL FOR A SCHOOL

The Future Factory's newest program is Let's Move a Million (www.letsmoveamillion.com). We aim to sell a million soccer balls throughout the world by the time the Soccer World Cup hits South Africa in 2010. People can make a donation to purchase a ball, which will then be donated to a school or sporting club. It has been proven that if children have equipment to do something productive, they will stay away from the things they shouldn't be doing, such as drugs, gang crime and violence.

SCHOOL FEES

Many parents in Cape Town are struggling to pay school fees for their children. Our school fee sponsorship program identifies some of these children and gives people the opportunity to sponsor one of them for a year at school. There is also the option to assist with school supplies as well.

FAMILY FEEDING PROGRAM

Our food program provides food to families who don't have it, or have very little of it. The families live in areas such as Manenberg, Steenberg and Ottery. Every week deliveries are made to these families with a combination of fresh food and canned and packaged goods. Without it, some of these children will only receive one meal a day. Most people choose to sponsor a family with an amount each month for a year, and we then provide them with information and updates on those families..

  COMBI VAN

At the moment we are transporting our coaches, volunteers and children in Anne's car. As the car holds only four, for our big programs, this can mean four or more trips, again costly on time and money for fuel. It also limits us, as if we travel up the coast for programs there, we can only take a few coaches because of the distance. This means we then can't deal with as many children. Any sponsorship for a vehicle would be acknowledged with the company name being printed on it. To assist with combi van sponsorship, please email tanya@thefuturefactory.co.za
