The Future Factory Australia & Dance 4 Africa

The Future Factory has now begun in Perth, Australia, in the Town of Kwinana. Over 400 Australian children have now learned to dance Cape Town Jazz, through the Dance 4 Africa program, and these children raise money for The Future Factory programs in South Africa and Vietnam. The program now runs in three schools, on weekends and adult classes on Tuesday nights.

The Future Factory holds community events in Perth, such as Swim 4 Africa, where the whole community is encouraged to come along, have some fun, watch the Dance 4 Africa performers, and help out the overseas programs at the same time.

Some of the Australian families are now taking part in The Future Factory feeding in South Africa, sponsoring a family with school fees and food each month.

Since the program began in April 2007, parents and teachers have reported increased self esteem and confidence, better behaviour, improved school grades and increased social awareness of the children involved.

The Dance 4 Africa dancers have put on three major performances, involving over 200 children on stage. They have so far won 15 LyriK Youth Incentive program awards and are booked to perform at all community events.
