About Us

This is a test message to the website.Anne Siroky started playing volleyball when she was 19. She loved sports and played them at any chance she got. The more she played, the better she got, and her goal was to be the best. She worked and worked, and made the South African volleyball team in 1992. She was on the team until 2000 and when she was 37, became South Africa’s number one beach volleyball player. She got to travel all over the world, and played against the world’s best. Her volleyball career led to many things, including her own radio show. She was forced to retire from the sport when she got a severe back injury.

In 2001, once she recovered from her injury, she decided she wanted to share some of her volleyball skills with the children. She approached schools with a volleyball program in mind, but when she got there found that there were no structured programs in any sports operating in our schools.

She was shocked and disappointed, because sports had done so much for her, and felt the learners were missing out. Along with Michael van Roodt, she revised the program she’d created so that it focused on sports in general, and The Future Factory was born.

Our sports academy started in a couple of schools, and has now grown into over 50 schools in the Western Cape. The Future Factory has expanded beyond just the sports program. We now reach over half a million kids each year, in South Africa, as well as our new projects in Australia and Vietnam, through our wide range of programs. We run many special events in the Western Cape, to keep the kids off the street and give them something to do, while teaching them new skills - “A kid in sports is a kids out of court”.

The Future Factory is non-profit, so all the money we take in goes directly to our coaches or back into the children. We don’t have an office, we run purely from our phones and email.
